East Main Street Facade Master Plan

New streetscape elements enliven Bridgeport’s East Main Street Master Plan

The proposed plan for Bridgeport, Connecticut’s East Main Street accentuates the strengths and improves upon the weaknesses of the commercial corridor. The uniqueness and beauty of historic structures will be preserved and strengthened through the treatment and restoration of existing materials.

The diversity of venues is highlighted by signage, street furniture, display carrels, and window treatments, but at the same time, venues will be unified by exterior window treatments such as awnings, building lighting, and bulkhead replacement and restoration. Improvements to the area also include pedestrian lighting, tree planting, and sidewalk improvements.
