Engineering Building II Facade
The engineering department at the University of Connecticut needed to update the facade of their Engineering II Building. The original building's corrugated aluminum had tarnished and fallen into disrepair. The building also lacked a prominent entrance. Our design increased the importance of the entry by adding a storefront glass system and canopy. The enlarged entrance afforded a grand stair linked to the main circulation spine as well as a handicapped accessible elevator.
Construction on the front façade was completed in the fall of 2001. Rear and side construction, as well as the final landscaping, will be completed in the spring, 2002.
