Since its founding in 1988, Kenneth Boroson Architects has focused on designing civic and community oriented projects. KBA is regionally recognized for transforming historic buildings and civic sites into human-scaled, modern functioning contextual centers of activity. Project types include but are not limited to educational, multi and single family housing, urban infill sites, and healthcare/laboratories.
Led by Principal Kenneth Boroson, AIA, LEED AP, the staff of seventeen includes two Architectural Associates, George Katinger and Mark Guerrera, five registered architects, architectural interns, interior designers, CAD technicians, graphic designers and support staff.
In 2003, KBA was awarded the Inner City 100 fastest growing companies in the United States and the top 10 fastest growing companies in Connecticut.
Highlights of the firm's civic work include design awards for Truman Elementary and Middle School, the new Chaplin Town Public Library, the Old Campus Restoration at Yale University (six dormitories and the complete re-design of the historic courtyard), the Mauro Sheridan Communication and Technology Academy, multiple historic restoration projects in New Haven and the master plan for the Quinnipiac Terrace Hope VI.
