Rockview Terrace is one of two complete neighborhoods within New Haven’s West Rock community, which has been undergoing a multi-phased redevelopment since 2006. Construction of the first phase of Rockview was completed in 2013. The second phase is a continuation of the master plan designed by the team of Kenneth Boroson Architects and Torti Gallas + Partners.
As in previous phases of both neighborhoods, planning for Rockview 2 included input from local and state entities as well as a series of community design charrettes held among residents and neighbors.
Phase 2 designs are similar to Phase 1 and are based on five vernacular styles of architecture found in New Haven. Homes have a variety of exterior colors and are grouped in a mix of two to six units. Phase 2 dwellings are HERS Rated – the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index is the industry standard by which a home’s energy efficiency is measured; HERS Rated homes are more efficient, resulting in lower energy bills.
